What we’re excited to see and do in Vegas

It’s time for another industry jam session! Thanks to EXHIBITOR Magazine, EXHIBITORLIVE kicks off its 29th annual event at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas next month and we are ready to make every moment count. We can’t wait to dive into the sea of industry buzz, vital education, and lively mingling with 6,000 of our fellow marketers looking to improve exhibit experiences and in-booth engagements.

To help you plan, we did a little digging to uncover this year’s must-experience gems.

Feed your brain

We all crave industry learning, and EXHIBITORLIVE serves up an educational buffet catered especially for us. The various education tracks mirror the evolving world of events with a packed curriculum (169 sessions!) and offers varied study through interactive classrooms, roundtables, and off-site explorations.

With seven learning tracks that cover hot topics including data, technology, virtual reality, global interests, social media, generational marketing, and more, you can’t go wrong. But we’re particularly keen on sessions scoping virtual reality, which is on everyone’s minds. Tune into this new technology with “Intersecting Vision, Strategy and Technology to Elevate the Attendee Experience” and “Human Innovation Science: It's All in Your Head.” Couple your event tech education with refreshers on the power of data. Exhibit Surveys, Inc. leads sessions on using surveys to measure performance and how data can help you select the right shows.

In addition to technology and data, keep your eye out for sessions led by branding leaders like Dell, Under Armour, and Intel. We love that EL also offers several targeted sessions for healthcare marketers, including “Does Healthcare Social Media Make You All a Twitter?”. In addition to marketing and branding, it’s also important to navigate the legal aspects of exhibiting. Learn tricks of the legal trade in “Exhibit Law Primer: Legal Concepts and Practical Advice.” Then round out your industry knowledge with the new author series, which covers learning we could all use: life balance, cost-effective business travel, and negotiation.

Circle the roundtables

Listen and offer your perspective on the latest industry trends and pain-points in the peer-to-peer roundtables. Moderated by experts, these interactive think tanks allow for ideation, discussion, and problem solving. Curious about how to create connections in our digital world? Take a seat at “Face-to-Face Engagement and Collaborative Creation in the Connected, Digital Era.” In addition to digital changes, there are many factors evolving our industry including the act of exhibiting. Join the discussion about the outlook for exhibits in “What Should Exhibiting Look Like in the Future?” Keeping up with booth evolution also means attracting new leads. Learn how connections on LinkedIn can work for you in “Using LinkedIn for Lead Generation.”

Take it outside

Choose from three different field trip opportunities to take your education on the road. First, take an interactive tour around Mandalay Bay to see what this resort offers as a potential venue. Next, sport your comfy kicks for a jaunt around Vegas to witness what this unique city can teach you about planning experiences. And finally, go “Beyond the Scenes” on a two-part expedition to learn how to apply design thinking to events and exhibitions. Hosted at the Freeman Design Center, this workshop explores designing spaces and graphics to generate engagement, integrating lighting and sound, optimizing space for interaction, cost-saving structures, and leveraging AV with the latest event tech to create emotional connections. Open to Full Access and A La Carte attendees, be sure to pre-register for this immersive field trip experience!

Sample the wares

An extension of the learning experience happens on the expo floor where you’ll discover 300 exhibitors offering the latest products and services. This year you’ll find 44 new, certified products making their debut in EXHIBITORLIVE’s Product Showcase. It’s no surprise that many items reflect the hot topics buzzing around our industry, including VR/AR, LED, presentation technology, and sustainable products.

A few favorites to check out: interactive flooring featuring LED lights and liquid tiles that react to weight with changing colors, a handheld VR device that works without a headset to save cost, and Freeman Smart Fabric — budget-friendly, seamless, and reusable fabric ideal for custom-printed graphics.

Speaking of smart design, check out the Freeman collaboration space and design studio booth where you’ll find designers ready to sketch ideas personalized for your brand. Watch the concept transform from live sketch to CAD drawing before your eyes. Take that vision a step further in the booth’s upper deck where an immersive VR experience brings your design to life in 3D.

Trust us, we’re just skimming the surface — there’s much more to see and do in Vegas beyond this sampler. The EXHIBITORLIVE experience cup truly runneth over, so soak it all up!
